How early or how late can one expect to get a finger printing notice? Any idea within how many days does one has to get it done once you get the notice?

same situation Got FP notice on 6th dec for FP on 12/28... I too in the same boat... I have read that these early FP notices are in error...due to some s/w problems at INS......not sure about the authencity...
