thanks dfagen thanks for the reply. my case is not renewal, so no old card. I didn't apply for EAD along with I-485. I have applied after tr to Chicago for first time. BCIS recd my appln on 6/19 and gave appointment for 8/12. Sounds fast? yes. I hope they approve my I-485 also that fast.

My attorney says BCIS chicago office doesn't issue receipt for EAD. Is it true? If yes, how can we go to them for i-EAD after 90 days? Don't they ask for receipt date at that time? Pl advise.

help please RD 8/02 TD 1/03 I never applied EAD. As it is taking longer time in Chicago, I am planning to file for EAD now. In case I am fired, some one told me I can transfer to another employer, if I have EAD. Is it advisable to apply for EAD for family too?
