employer concerns Thanks ! Do one needs to inform the employer or take permission from them ? Is the I140 filing receipt required in original or a copy?

Hi , I need advice from you guys, here is my situation: My company does not do concurrent filing of I140 and I485. I140 takes too long to process. I want to file I485 through a different lawyer ( other than company's ) . Is it possible to do so? Thanks!
