I applied for an OPT and within a week got my receipt (Dated 4/11). It says its taking them about 80 days to process such apps. Wonder if this is correct ? From what I see on other threads, its taking much longer. Any one have anything to share ?

Why don't you go and get an Interim EAD ? If its past 90 days of receipt.

Don't think.... the visa stamp is essential. Unless the rules have changed...which I don't really recall. My wife applied for an F2 (Mumbai, sometime in June 02) based on my F1 approval notice and got it without problems. So, if you can, send her the original or notarised photocopy. Also...
