Never give people more information than they need to know. You should have come up with a better story about your job situation etc and they would have probably allowed you to stay on for 1 more month.
sunissunny,
I called up NSC couple of times 'cause i did not believe it at first.
Finally, its a big relief.
Sunissunny and BPBJHL042002, your time will come soon.

SteveG,
Congratulations!!!
It comes without saying, but its good to hear from at least one person who has been approved after the freeze.
Enjoy your freedom.
Probably still worth it no matter what your other options or your backup is ( going back to your home country ) .
With the GC option atleast you don't have to worry about not finding a job right away.
haigc,
Thats a standard message. Does'nt mean much, people were usually getting the approvals after RFE response anywhere from 2 weeks to eternity (as in our cases).

Yes, you are absolutely right. CP is/was the way to go. But, that time there was a certain amount of risk associated with CP supposedly.
AOS has so far proven to be a never ending test of patience and endurance.
Actually, as long as you get married before your approval you can file your spouse's I-485. It does not matter whether you file it as soon as marriage or at a later point in time. All that matters is you should be married before your approval.

It might/can be true. Only the first 2 cases were I-485 approvals from yesterday's date 01/16/03. The others were other applications.
But, Rupnet has been the most reliable sample site so far for us, till we see approvals on Rupnet, we probably should not hope for too much.
