The "list of documents" I got from my field office back in the day for the 2012 winners; it is clearly stated there that a certified translation of your high school diploma is required with your I-485 package.

High school diploma is indeed a part of your I-485 package (copy), but in most cases, if you are on an education visa (F-1, or whatever you name it), when it comes to the interview day, they are also well aware of the situation that you wouldn't have made it this far into your education career...
