One of my friend had applied for his 485. but so far he didn\'t get his receipt. He has a valid H1 and stamped in the pp also. Can he go out and come back with his H1 without his original receipt. Please let me know. Thanks

No Title The 180 day rule takes into effect if the company lay you off after 180 days of your RD/ND. Your EAD is still valid and you can work for some other company with a similar job description.

No Title If you have more years in your H-1 it is wise to get H1 extended instead of assuming that you will get your EAD. Go ahead and apply for you 485 and if you want even EAD but have the h-1 extended which will be helpful in many ways.
