US Citizen Rights at US Border

I was flying from Germany too, 11 hours flight :) That was my 3rd trip oversees in 6 months (and 3rd trip as USC) and that might be the reason they questioned me like that, when I entered first 2 times they just asked couple of questions and let me go. Still, I find questions like "how did you...

US Citizen Rights at US Border

Good thread. I recently had a similar experience when entering US at SFO. I became USC this year and I though that returning to the country as a citizen would be a breeze, wrong! They never asked me so many questions or searched my luggage when I used to enter as LPR. This time they really gave...

    I-130 for Consular Processing

Yes, I've received 2 emails from NVC in about the same time, one with AOS and one with DS-3032. I called and gave them my email address a few days before that. So just you know - giving them your email address can speed up things significantly. P.S. Too bad that signatures on this forum are...

    I-130 for Consular Processing

DS-3032 for my son is still not processed although I've emailed it 10 days ago. I called NVC multiple time already, they say to wait. I should have express-mailed DS-3032 besides emailing it, but I was told that email should be faster and decided not to bother with mailing hard copies. On the...

    I-130 for Consular Processing

See my signature for updates. Also, here is a good guide to NVC: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/LingChe_NVC_ShortCut, everyone should read it before asking questions on this forum.

    I-130 for Consular Processing

My I-130 cases weren't received by NVC either (see signature), I called and talked to NVC agent, she told me it takes from 2 to 4 weeks for them just to receive a case from CIS, ridiculous.

    I-130 for Consular Processing

I've read (see the link below) that certified copies are allowed instead of originals. Also, translation to English is not required if the document is in the official language of the applicant's country. Can anyone share any experience with that? I'd feel better sending certified copies instead...

    I-130 for Consular Processing

I see, thanks. I haven't been contacted by NVC yet but I want to prepare everything in advance. From what I've read on NVC's website, translation is not needed for documents in the country's official language, right? Also, can I sign DS230 for my infant son myself?

    I-130 for Consular Processing

Guys, anyone knows if it's absolutely required to send original biographic documents to NVC together with DS-230? Can one submit copies instead and bring original documents (such as birth/marriage certificates) to the interview?

    I-130 for Consular Processing

Received today an approval notice for wife's I-130. Also, got the email today that my son's case is also approved and approval letter is sent. Both cases should be transferred to NVC now. I wonder how long it might be from now until the interview at the consulate, assuming all the correspondence...

    I-130 for Consular Processing

Recieved an email yesterday about my wife's case: "On July 14, 2009, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service."...

    I-130 for Consular Processing

Anyone knows average I-130 processing times at CSC? I recently called USCIS to check on status of I-130 applications for my wife and son and officer told me it will take as long as 6 months for USCIS to approve I-130s before they pass them to NVC, because of some new rules for background check...

    I-130 Upgrade

Hi All. I'm in similar situation. I became US citizen on June 17th and called to upgrade I-130s for my wife and son on June 18th. I called USCIS yesterday to check on status of those applications and officer told me it will take as long as 6 months for USCIS to approve I-130s before they pass...

I've noticed SF people often get their oath letters on Fridays, well, today is Friday and I still didn't get it. I wonder what are my chances for June 17th oath ceremony?

I passed my interview on May 20, it went very fast, it took maybe 10-15 minutes and I got N-652 with "recommended for approval". Seeing how fast FriscoDude and yay got thier oath letters, I hope I'll get mine soon too, can't wait.

But they gave you "Recommended for approval" letter at the interview, right? Did they tell you anything like "Approval of your case will take longer"?
