Thanks for that info BigJoe5. Is there a chance the case will get denied if an I-94 isn't provided or a CBP response as a substitute? I am just curious because I don't know what the turn around time is for CBP and what if I don't receive it any time soon.
Is it possible to file for an adjustment of status through marriage to an USC even if you don't have an I-94? The person is out of status and came here as a minor years ago and the mother has lost her passport with the expired visa and the expired I-94.
Thanks for any help.
He came with his mother to the U.S. when he was 7 with a visitor's visa, he shared his mother's passport. The mother lost the passport and the i-94 card. Basically there is no proof of entry for him.
Hello,
I would like to know if it is possible for a green card holder to apply for their 21 year old son who is currently in the United States and is out of status? Thanks for all helpful answers.
My uncle and his wife recently just had their status adjusted by having their cancellation of removal case granted. They have already received their green cards, I am so happy for them. I would like to know if it is possible to have their son's status adjusted at the same time, he is 24 years...
jackolantern,
what if your disability is from birth or is from before the legal working age, and because of the limitations you were never able to work and pay into the system...can you still qualify or qualify under your sponsor's employment history and paying into the system?
I am a permanent resident and I receieved my social security number back in July 2009. I just filed my 2009 taxes with my wife (married filing jointly) and claimed my tuition credit for 2009. What I would like to know is if I can claim the college tuition I paid for 2006, 2007, 2008 when I was...
Just out of curiosity, can the sponsor get in trouble if the sponsored candidate collects social security disability benefits or unemployment insurance after receiving their green card?
According to the instructions, the sponsor's income requirement for a 2 person household is $18,212 annually. My wife is sponsoring me for AOS but she was ill for most of 2008 and was only able to work for a few months and only filed a little over $17,500 for her 2008 taxes. She is expected to...

PunjabDaPuttar - Thanks for your replies in this post and my post on the medical examination, you have been very helpful.
My other concern is that would using her new name on all the forms cause conflict if she used her old name on her tax returns, since she is also my sponsor and will file...
My USC wife changed her surname to mine on her marriage certificate. However, she hasnt changed the name on any of her documents such as driver's license or her American passport. When filing the i-130 petition and my i-485 application, should we use her maiden name thats on her passport and her...
I-693 - Medical Examination and Vaccination Record
If I'm applying for AOS and currently reside in the United States, will I still need to send form I-693 (Medical Exam) with my form I-485?
In Part 5, Question 21-h, it asks to:
"h. Add together lines and enter the number here. Household Size:"
I am confused as to what lines I should add. If you are doing this affidavit to sponsor your spouse, do you still put a "1" for spouse in question 21-c even though you counted your...
Thank you all for the replies. I was also wondering if I can send both I-130 and I-485 applications in one package, with two seperate checks, or should I mail them seperately?
