Hi, does anybody know what happens if you do not have current passport, i.e. if your passport has expired, and you get I-485 approval ? Can you still go to INS and get your green card i.e. immigrant visa and then wait for plastic card ? Is approval still valid ? All info appreciated...

No Title Hi, so are you saying that you actually do not have to have a valid (not expired) passport in order to get a stamp - on your I-94 - and then you can still get plastic card later ? Another words, if your I-485 is approved and you do not have "active" (valid) passport...
