AVM changed from "..case not found.." to "..case received.." about a month ago. Case approved on 11/16, but did not check AVM for a few days till yesterday, so can\'t say exactly when it got updated.
So this chapter comes to an end.. can\'t really complain about the wait...

Yes, if you re-enter the US on AP your H1B will be automatically invalidated.
To your second question, I would think that if you have a problem with getting the H1B stamp, you could still use your AP re-enter. I\'d be curious to see what others think about this.
Good luck.

RD 1/24, ND 2/5... AVM still says "Case not found"..
I guess I\'m on the borderline between Jan and Feb, depending on whether they go by RD or ND (wish we could settle that one!)
Spoke with IIO some weeks ago about updating the AVM, but it never happened.

Yes, you can.
There are several posts in this forum from people who made the switch, and then got their 485 approvals without any problems.
Good luck.

Does it say anything about when they might review your application?? I thought they go by RD/ND ?
Any thoughts? BTW mine\'s EAC-01-095-XXXXXX, RD 1/01, ND 2/01.

Did your AVM msg just change..?
Ganya,
My PD and RD are a day or two off of yours, but as of last night the AVM still said "case not found". I spoke with an IIO some weeks back and she "put a note in to update the AVM" but it didn\'t happen.
Did your msg change...
I have been advised of that..
.. and will be prepared.
Do you think using AP in any way affects the 180-day portability provision under AC21? In other words, am I tied to the current (I-485) employer for any future AP/EAD extensions, or can I move to another employer with the EAD/AP as...
Hello,
My I-485 is pending (EB2, ND 2/01) and so is my H1B extension application. The current H1B expires Sept. 30th, so I may have to re-enter on Advanced Parole when returning from a business trip later this month.
Does anybody know of any downsides to using AP to re-enter?
Thanks...
Thanks..
Spoke with an IIO... didn\'t realize its the same number as for the AVM (802-527-4913). She said the "case not found" was caused by a "computer glitch" ... she took my EAC # and said it will be corrected in a couple of days. Said they\'re working on October cases...
Hello folks,
In March this year the AVM said "This type of application takes 365 - 540 days.....", but for the last few months its giving me the "did not find case.." crap. Spoke with an INS National Service Center person yesterday (800-375-5283), and though she was nice...

Congratulations!
Did you need the original I-140 receipt notice through all this? I have a month to go to reach the 180-day threshold and I\'m planning to switch right after, but my I-140 original receipt is with my employer (I have a copy as well as the 485 original receipt)...
Going by the posts on this board...
it doesn\'t seem to be "common" to receive the cards so quickly after stamping. There are so many people waiting for 4, 6 months... It just seems to be one of those processing inconsistencies with INS...
