for people in New York area
My passport was stamped in Nov., 2001 but the AVM is still playing
"this case has been approved..." message. I called the service center
last Friday and was told that they haven\'t received my documents from
NYC local office. Is it normal for NYC...
My wife and I had our passports stamped yesterday. Our cases were
approved on 11/20/2001. The approval notices were received on
11/29/2001. The whole process (including waiting) took about one hour.
No questions were asked. They only need the approval notice,
the passport, the I-94 card...
amend your I-140
You can use your old I-140 to file the I-485 and amend your I-140
for company name change. My amendment took about two months to get
approved. Good luck!
My Friends,
I just checked the AVM and learned that my case and my wife\'s case have
been approved. Four years\' waiting finially ends. This is the best
thanksgiving gift for my family. I\'d like to thank Mr. Rajiv Khanna and
his team for their great work. Also, I\'d like to thank you...
talk to your lawyer
Shawn,
You should talk to your lawyer. If you think your lawyer is not
good enough, try to find a good one. Everyone here wants to help
others, but we\'re not immigration professionals. Only a good lawyer
can show you the best path. Before you take any chances, I...
my suggestion
Shawn,
I don\'t think you can go back to school with an EAD. I think the
best way is to find a new job ASAP. Some of my co-workers got laid
off and found their new jobs later. I know the job market is tough
now, but the chance is still there. Meanwhile, if it is possible...
This is my first time to speak with an IIO. According to her,
INS Vermont Center is picking up a few Feb. cases based on the
priority date. When asked about my case, she said it\'s "pending".
Her explanation for "pending" is it\'s waiting for the decision
to be made...
talk to your attorney
I agree with sbk. My FL notice came to my attorney, too. One thing
you should keep in mind is that you HAVE TO keep INS updated about
your new mailing address. In this way, you won\'t miss any important
notices from INS in case they sent to you directly. Your...
Hi Folks,
After the AC-21 regulations, do we have to amend I-140 for company name change cases? It\'s not mentioned in AC-21 regulations. I read some posts here saying people were told by IIOs that there is no
need to amend. What do you think? Any suggestions are appreciated.
Hi,
I changed my home address recently. Do I need to fill out an AR-11
form to notify INS about this change or just need to call an IIO to
update? What number do you guys use to reach an IIO in Vermont Service Center?
Thanks a lot.
My wife filed 485 application with my case. Now, her company
can spouse her for the immigration process. My question is,
since she is in 485 pending state now, can she still apply
for the LC and I-140 as a primary applicant while waiting for
the current 485 application? I know this...

get stamped ASAP
I would say go to the local INS office and get your passport stamped
as soon as possible. Based on my experience, no questions about your
current employment will be asked. As soon as the passport is stamped,
you can use it as your temporary GC in case your new employer...
The card is even not ordered!
Sanjoy,
If the AVM says "this case has been...", it means the card is
not ordered yet. So, I think you should check with VSC.
