If I have a TN Status that is about to expire and I applied for the H1B but haven't received anything (it's still pending), should I go out to the border and re-apply for the TN before it expires?

Just be sure you have a list of items in case they want to search. Have them numbered and everything. Better than having them go through everything inside/out.

I got legal help and actually, the POE officer didn't bother to look at that. He only wanted the offer letter, stating the position, the salary, and the duties. It was really well written. Funny how the company spent $1000 on a lawyer and the documents he wrote were pretty much "useless"...

I would sell the car after using it in the U.S. Canada has more strict laws in terms of importing cars and not all vehicles in the U.S. are allowed in Canada because of these restrictions (i.e. environmental). Canada will also tax you to the bone. But if you can afford it, go for it.

I applied for SSN a few days after my TN Visa and entry. Everything was in the system pronto, and got the SSN a couple weeks after. You also need this SSN before you can get paid and open a bank account.

I said no to sponsorship and just put in the resume at the bottom: (Will need TN Visa status to work in the U.S.) And it worked! I'm in the U.S. working. :D
