Hello,
My wife's EAD expires Mar 04. We applied for EAD in Dec 03. Last week we got an RFE and sent the details.
Should she stop working after the expiry date? I was told that as long as the renewal has been filed and receipt received, she can continue to work as long as INS reaches a...
Marriage and 485
My case is similar to yours. According to law, as long as the marriage date preceeds the date of approval, she is entitled to the benefit of your processing as your beneficiary. Meaning if your marriage date is after your approval then she has to file under family category...
Got my passport stamped in CA - Santa Ana. Even though the notice referenced LA as the nearby INS center I went to Santa Ana and it helped. Whole thing took 2 hours, which includes one hour waiting in a queue outside the building because of some computer problem (thats what they said). Once...
Yes it is 6/16 and 8/23.
I thought it could either be because of EB3 or that was the time, when INS opened the flood gates and my app wasnt the one on top.
Also, I have seen atleast one another case with similar dates.

Approved on time, I must say.
This site is wonderful. It was not just informative and educative but was also morally supportive.
Thanks everyone participating.
Wife's case still pending. I dont expect her approval anytime soon, since we applied for her GC very late...
AVM finger print message reverted back...
...to what it was until last week. Now, its saying "On Jan 2, 2002 the result of finger print was received..."
Its all confusing...
Until three days AVM spit out status message as, "On Jan 2, 2002 Finger prints were collected and case resumed processing..."
Now it says, "On Nov 16, 2001 Finger prints for 485 were collected and pending review." I gave my finger prints on Oct 31, 2001. In a way, I am glad "Something" is...
Thanks for your reply. Yes, she is in USA with a H1B. So, do you think there is a chance that my wife wont get the derivative benefit, if my 485 is approved before?
Thanks again.
I got married before my 485 was approved. I am waiting for a few of my wife's documents before I can file my her 485. In case my 485 is approved before I could file her 485, will she still have the derivative benefit and be able to file her 485???
Please clarify. Thanks in advance.

My colleague applied for his 485 before getting married and went for medical and finger-printing. He got his EAD but didnt use it yet. Now he is getting married. Does anybody know, if there is anyway he can include his wife\'s petition with his 485 without revoking 485. His 485 is not approved...
LIN Number refers to ND not RD, I think...
...I could be wrong, but as far as I have noticed, the three digits in the LIN # is according to the Notification Date and not Receipt Date. Which makes me believe that, the order according to which applications are taken-up, must follow Notification...
It took around 2 months for me
I gave my FP on Oct 31, 2001. The automated message later said,INS recieved FP sometime in November. Then I \'believe\' they sent it to FBI. Got the results back. Later automated message said, the results arrived on Jan 2, 2002 and case has resumed processing.
When calculating 180-days for employment with employers other than the one who sponsored, how should I calculate the 180 days?
- Should I include saturdays, sundays and federal holidays?
- Should I start from ND or RD?
- Anything else I should consider?
Thanks in advance
were you serious about the date
were you serious when you said that "because they are rushing along so fast they forgot to change it...".
Or just joking
