    Non RIR Discussion Only !

After fighting with our lawyer about converting my case to RIR (she didn't see it as a good idea at first), convincing our VP that it is a good idea and finally landing an appointment with the lawyer to start paperwork, we had layoffs in our company on Monday. Some of those laid off had the...

    Non RIR Discussion Only !

Question: What if your company has layoffs after your case has been converted to RIR and while it is pending processing in the RIR queue? Does it go back to TR or does the case get tossed out completely, priority date and everything?

Folks, Question for you: What do you think about filing for a conversion based on a PERM-recruitment process? My lawyer was about to file a parallel PERM case for me, so the recruitment is done and ready. My lawyer says the PERM recruitment is insufficient for RIR. What do you think?

There are two aspects to it. One is the layoffs and it is good to not have had any in the past 6 months. The other is the recruitment 'effort' and according to my lawyer this has to done _over_ 6 months and not _within_ 6 months. I just found this ...

Folks, As an earlier post of mine stated, my lawyer says that for RIR, the pattern of recruitment has to be established OVER 6 months. Everything that google brings up says 'WITHIN' 6 months. But these are all non-government sites. Does anyone know where an 'official' document may be...

Folks, I spoke to my lawyer about this yesterday and she said that RIR requires a pattern _over_ 6 months and not _within_ 6 months. Can someone point me to the official rules and regulations regarding the guidelines? I would like to read through them myself In my case, we have done...

No, I was looking for the next level of detail. An approximate table giving a processing time based on Priority-Date. I have little faith in that Sep 2007 number. Btw folks, do the AJB listings imply that the recruitment is being done completely by the BECs...in an effort to speed up the...

If only the freaking BECs would publish some kind of schedule, some plan. It doesn't have to be accurate: Plus/minus 3-4 months error would be ok. But at least SOME kind of declaration of intent. Just tell us what you are thinking of doing.........arggghh!!! Btw 'so_depressed', as regards...

Congratulations buddy! I have a Nov 2002 PD and am wrestling with the convert-to-PERM-or-not decision. Your 6-week datapoint certainly makes it more appealing.

From what my lawyer tells me, PERM conversions take about 4-6 months. So if you expect to get your traditional application approved in around the same time frame , then yes there is no point in filing a new PERM application. But I have a late 2002 PD and I harbor no hopes of seeing my labor...
