My Perm was applied on March 1st week and was approved before the end of March. my I-140 was filed on April end and I got an approval May 30th. I was in the same boat ( 6th year) and my h1b expires on september 2006. But now I can get a 3 yr extension. GO ahead and apply. Good luck.
