your status would begin from the day you got your PR card.
If the stay outside Canada is more than 3 years within the 5 year pd the immigration status would be cancelled...
I became a pr in 2002...my pr is valid till 2007
i have been out of canada for more than 3 years..
if i want to go to canada for a visit in 2006..will i be denied entry?

what if i lose my pr card now since i did not stay in canada for 2 years and later apply for immigration again as family immgrnant as the children will become canadian citizens..

i have been in the same position..tho when i was told i would not be let into canada if i entered after 3 yrs..i entered when there was just a day left for 3yrs to complete..
i have left canada again ...
i think if i wish to go to canada now i will have to apply for a visa
