Thank you (and to MarineWife) for reply.
She's not working now, she's a student but we were thinking that she may get a part time job...not knowing that she being the daughter of an E2 visa holder she's not allowed to work...
We don't have anyone to co-sponsor her, so the only way to meet...
Quick question: in order to sponsor my wife I have to have an income above 125% of the Poverty Guideline.
Can my wife's part-time income be considered (combined with mine) to meet the 125% Poverty Guideline?
Hi everyone.
I was posting to this forum many years ago, when I've sponsored my parents. Now after 5+ years I come across of another immigration issue:
I'm an American citizen and I want to marry my girlfriend. She is here a student and her immigration status is based on her parents E2 visa...
Thanks again:)
I don't know much about this issue, but I'm under the impression that Army and Air Forces have different standards and requirements for recruiting.
Apparently Army doesn't require to be an American Citizen to enroll.
Thank you for the fast answer.:) By any chance do you have a link to that discussion on the Texas department of transportation?
On the other hand, my friend is trying to avoid going to the process of getting a COC for the money reason and because it may take about 6 months to get it (or how...
With OP permission I'd like to have an opinion of a situation a friend of mine has these days.
She (my friend) is a naturalized American citizen. A few years ago when I was active on this forum I've helped her to get an US Passport for her green card holder daughter, advising her that it's a...
My 2 cents. If you're not in rush, and you don't need it now...and you want it "just in case" for a "maybe situation", sometimes in the future, why you worry so much about possible INS's delays or mishaps? I know, it's annoying to deal with these people, I was "at war" with them for 15 years...
I swear I didn't speak with this lawyer...but his answer is almost identical with what I told you a few posts before. :)
Sounds right to me.
For your peace of mind you can try the 3rd opinion too.
Good luck.
Contact at least another lawyer (a good, reputable one) and think about it.
Since over 7 millions Mexicans crossed illegally the border and stay here, I don't see why your mom, who came with a valid visa shouldn't.
You know someone :p ...keep in mind that some people don't need and don't have a paid job, but still do a lot of work for their own pleasure...I know someone, guess who ;)
P.S. And since I've posted here, I'll tell to the OP that he should send a letter with documentation with assets and...
You're right, Priority Mail is $4.05 Flat rate.
The advantage of Priority Mail are that:
1. You can send up to 1 lb. for only $4.05
2. Is faster, mail is delivered in 2 days within continental U.S.
I really don't know the specifics related to my ex-in-laws.
Their son (my ex) did all the research at that time and I remember him saying that: 1. He couldn't get medicaid for them . 2. The private companies who accepted to insure his parents (most of them didn't offer insurance for over 65)...
I'm sorry, you misunderstood me.
I've mentioned MEDICARE as an example, I know you didn't say anything about it in your post.
About medicaid, my ex-husband parents are over 65 and they couldn't find any private insurance to buy medical and they were told they can't get MEDICAID, neither...
I don't think is correct.
If we sign the I-864 sponsoring our parents, even though they are senior citizen with no, or little income, we are responsible for their medical expenses, they can't apply for any medical assistance. (Even for MEDICARE they don't qualify if they are not USC or have...
As a naturalized citizen you'll carry the A# with you for the rest of your life.
Alien number, is the one from your GC, and also appears on your Naturalization certificate.
