My priority date will come up in approximately 6 years. Is it possilbe to recieve a F1 visa for a 4 or 5 year program (end date before priority date) or is it simply not doable (filing a F1 while pending I-130) in principle?

What are the requirements for filing the I-485 and I-130 concurrently for a Lawful Permanent Resident (LPR) petitioning to bring her unmarried/over 21 son into the US.
Does she need to be a US citizen to do this?

Turns out there is no special visa required to enter the US if you are a canadian citizen and waiting for your I-130 to be processed. Here is the link:
