Yesterday, My parents went to the interview. Because their appointment is half hour apart, so IO let them in together. He did not mind that I am their interpreter. For most part he talked to me, asked me. Then for the part of verifying the last page of I485 (criminal record), he let me...
Total news to me too. My parents will have interview next Tuesday, we did not receive any letter from our DO (Philly). Do I need to find them a interpreter?
Yes. You can make a copy only for legal reason. Apply for your Mom is legal reason. I asked a immigartion officer for this, he told me. And I did copy it.
I applied for my parents on 4/5/06. They had the finger prints done at the end of April. I checked the uscis web page, it stated that will take 120 to 180 days to process the case. Our DO is philadelphia, the timeline for I485 in philly is more than one year. Which one should I expected?
good news
Today I just received the oath letter for 3/29 :). I got and pass interview on Nov.15. My total timeline is about 9 months, include the 5 months between interview and oath.
I don't understand. Is it a requirement of 3 months residensy in a district before you file in that DO? For axample, if I live in LA, then move to Kansas City, immidiately file the form, which DO should I file?
Thank you all for your reply. I checked the time, my DO take a little bit over 1 year. And I asked other lawyers, only one checked the DO's processing time, and said a little bit over 1 year. The other all said around 6 to 8 months. Is there other way to expedite the process?
Hi:
I want to sponsor my parents (they are currently here), I am citizen. One lawyer told me that INS has separate process for lawyer and by your own. So go through with them can expedite the process. Does anyone have the experience?
Thanks
good news
I just talked to an officer, he told me I have been scheduled on 3/29 ceremony. The letter will mail out several weeks before the ceremony. So just wait.
