I believe that NJ follows the "Employment-At-Will" doctrine. Therefore, I don't believe that the employer can suggest on the offer letter a 1-year or any time bound employment condition.
Can one afford to skip a few paychecks (as advised by the firm) due to lack of work at the firm and still maintain H1B status or the paychecks must keep coming continuosly???
