I understand the theoretical part, but this is what happened: I got Shengen visa from French embassy two years ago in my NP (wasn't GC holder then), since they refused to put it in RTD.
If i got the question right, here is the answer: countries like France and Taiwan didn't accept RTD and asked for NP to issue a visa. In case of France the status was Asylee. In case of Taiwan the status was asylum based PR. I know it doesn't make sense, but that's the case.
I totally agree with having a thread for Citizenship with Asylum based GCs. After GC approval I checked thread that is only for GC holders, and all matters that involved asylum based issues were directed to this thread. So I think it makes sense to create one as a sticky or a separate one.
Let's assume that somebody posted a notarized statement. However, at the end of the day the immigration won't even look at it. If it could help, we would turn against USCIS thousands of statements about what 800 number officers told us. I agree that it's really funny, though the intent might...
Hi guys, my husband got approved! :D Yesterday we received his GC with the welcome letter. The GC is dated 3/1/05.
Good Luck to everybody else.! :) Though I don't plan to leave the forum ;)
I have a friend who has withholding of removal and applied for advance parole. The tricky part is that she did get the advance parole, BUT her attorney told her that though she has the permit she will NOT be allowed back into the country since withholding of removal is not a status by itself...
No e-mails, just the GC in the mail. The welcome letter came yesterday. Basically they sent the GC first and then started updating their system, isn't it nice? :D
You are almost there. Mine came without LUD changing to approval. It can be in the mail any day ;)
My husband has the same dates and he is the principle applicant. That means they started approving principals too!!!!
Thanks morning. I hope you will get yours soon too. After requesting all those documents and making you wait for so long, they should do a good job. I wish you good luck! :)
I would agree with kjonim32 that the districts has nothing to do with trnasfering cases to different service centers. My friend's (we live next to each other) case with religous basis was transferred to NSC, and mine - political, stayed in Nebraska...Who knows what exactly they are doing there...
Thanks guys :) Really what matters the most is the card in my hands :D
I hope the officer will realize and order your card Atique Rahman after all. I know they work in a very weird way
My husband was confused too, that being the principle applicant he didn't get his GC with mine. :(
Hi guys.....I'm so happy. Didn't expect it...opened the mail and it was there. My LUD changed to "can't find the status" on February 21st, and I have been checking since than. But nothing changed. And today it was in the mail. I guess the officer forgot to update the case status.
By the way, I...
Yeahhhh, :) I have the same message, and I'm also derivative asylee. I checked my husband's case status, he is the principle, and his LUD hasn't changed so far...I guess the system is moving!!!! :D
They must be kidding
I called them last week, asking the status of my case. The guy kept telling me that the current processing date is the year of 2000. I asked what about approvals of 2001, 2002 and 2003. He kept repeating that they are processing 2000... What's wrong with them?
