my take on this! I read parts of this document (faithingod's) carefully, and it is my understanding (and an optimistic belief) that what you see in here is to be attached to the original S.1932. It also includes those topics which were controversial, which means that some of senate provisions...

Khodalmd, I had made the call around 11:00am. The information below is all that I got! I called the same number that Waldenpond called last night. BUT, ever since so many people are getting this "not everything is finanlized yet" message that I am beginning to think that the battle just...

So, *Temporary relief for retrogression* should be our aim! I totally agree with RajGC that big corps can look for for themselves with the H1-B thing! But, for the retro relief thing - I don't think we have the big corps on our side. They love the present situation where they literally...

Update: I called the House Judiciary committee about 2 hrs back and was told this: "No immigration provisions are included in the conference report" "The conference is closed - final signatures are done, the congress will be voting on it today." I still feel that we need to wait and see.

FIRST THINGS FIRST While we are trying hard to coordinate efforts and collect contact information, I think it is very important that we know what we are doing. The topmost thing we need is CLARITY, so that our efforts are NOT half-hearted and we can also ENCOURAGE MORE NEW PEOPLE to join...

thank you! I think all of us should have also preceded our calls with one simple question: "Can you please tell us if the conference report includes sec 8001 of S.1932.ES?" If we were actually reading the forum messages, we knew they were meeting on friday! I got this on thursday, and...

Everyone, Any luck with contacting reporters?? Does anyone have contacts at some top newspapers already? Also, if we are writing letters etc. we should also attach all already-published articles on immigration to that. Depending on what happens to the S.1932 bill, NEWS will pick up the...

We should stay connected for future efforts. I think we should first try to find out why the provision was removed. Understanding the problem will help to create a good solution that will work. Also, don't give up just yet! Lets have the official news!
