What to do at Port of Entry.

My OPT/F1 status will expire Jan 11, 2005. My H1 petition was approved sometime in August 2004, and will begin taking effect Jan 01, 2005. Now, I have found out that my OPT/F1 status has been terminated in Aug. due to the approval in change of status to H1. Is this right? If it is.. won't...- ch1215
