I am presently working for company X on H1-B and I have approved Labor through company Y. Can I continue to stay with Company X and file for I-140 through Company Y? When is it mandatory that I leave Company X and join Company Y in GC stage? Do I have to join Company Y, before I file I-485?

I have I-140 cleared through Company X under EB3. If I file for new EB2 with Company Y, can I somehow retain my PD?. Your replies will be greatly appreciated.
