I concur with Sm1smom without even reading her responses. But yes, do both: Affidavit and your savings and other assets. You got pretty decent savings, own a house and a car - a lot of people in the US would not have those as liabilities. Save some more and you are golden.

I am not big on Affidavits myself. Do you mean the income would have to be 100% of the guideline for the family of 4, plus 100% of the guideline for the family of 2? It comes out as 48,500 then.

The income of the sponsor has to be at least 100% of the poverty guidline for a given family size. Some embassies insist that the imcome be at least 125% of the guidline. There are options to combine income with assets of the sponsor (there are formulas for different asset types). Check our...

In my fleeting predictions career, there is one thing that I got right. That is, Silicon would sooner or later start assaulting Iranians, the way he had been doing Nepalese.

I'd like to jump in the discussion, but reading those long posts take too much of my work time (imagine a Jew working Saturdays). @Anxiety2015 , no doubt, you mean no disrespect, neither does Britsimon, I am sure. +20 C does indeed feels cold in the land of smiles. I set the AC to 26...

7000-10000 dollars - ain't this crazy! Even Silicon does not have this much money. AoS is the Affidavit of Support. Since COs are so demanding in your embassy, you will have to do both Affidavit and statements + properties.

    Visa Bulletin for July 2015

There is no problem. You can book a medical appointment as soon as you have your 2NL, sometimes sooner. However, you will have to activate your LRP status before the validity of the medicals expire. So if your medicals are valid for 6 months, you will have to enter the states 6 month from the...

    DV 2016 Winners Meet Here

You cannot choose your interview date. You may, however, submit DS later, if your CN is low. It is as "easy" to get a visa a few months later after fiscal year starts. However, you cannot control how long it takes to process you DS. It may take 2 months or quite longer. And when KCC finishes...

It is better to have the account history from the bank. So they would see that the money had been accumulating there, and not just appeared there before the interview. No need for FD. In case you get the money deposited right prior to the interview, get some documentation on where it is coming...

Hey hey, Devy. I appreciate your kindness in doing this. I, however, am not doing my own predictions since March, when I figured my goose was up for cooking. (this "goose" citation goes out to my friend and accountant @johnelliot344 ;)) I am not sure if you can upload an excel to this forum...

    Visa Bulletin for June 2015

I don't know the difference between a marksheet and a transcript in your country, but get it if you can. If there is no way you can get it - no big deal, as long as your high school credentials are in order.

    Visa Bulletin for June 2015

I concur with what the three of the G4 have said. With your low CN you are not in danger of visas running out on you. You really have no choice now, after you got married, but to unlock the form and make the changes. Make sure you get your high school credentials, and everything else you can...

I resigned from predictions attemps back in March. First, the predictions were grim. Second, with so many unknown variables, they are unreliable. Third, I concluded that the knowledge of the likelihood of going current does not change a thing for me. So I sit in the "dark corner", and I just...
