I dont think that you need to be faculty. I'm not a faculty and my 140 was approved in EB2. I think there are some unfortunate folks whose file is with a slow/lazy officer? Good Luck.

You are kidding. OR your friend is lying. Maybe he had some criminal past. Or was out of status for more than 180 days. There is NO RULE, that prevents anyone from adjusting their status because of bad credit history!
I wish the concept of turn/line is there with NSC folks. If that was the case, my 140 shouldnt have been approved. I definitely feel that NSC is unjust in approving later filers (including me) while older cases are sitting idle. Of late they have been approving 140's filed in 2004 and 2005 while...

With the econmoy collapsing, there were less new h1bs and many existing h1bs who were laid off went back home. Also companies were reluctant to file labor for a new GC with several rounds of layoffs happening and all this resulted in the availability of new visa numbers.

Well. Dont fret.. You are just 3months from seeing your 485 approval. You can enjoy the summer instead of checking mails/emails/USCIS website etc. Now go out and enjoy the summer. ;)
Now that EB3 visa numbers are unavailable, I'm guessing we could see more EB2 approvals. Lets keep track and see what the trend is. If you are EB2 and your 485 is pending/approved, pls post here.
