Too late
Yesterday night i made a phone call. USCIS folks apologized for not having noticed such a brilliant idea and soon we will be having half-boiled GCs. I have asked 'nelsona' to be excluded from such a scheme.
Have they stated why "They will not adopt it" . Also, have they ever implemented anything suggested by Ombudsman ? As stated in another thread i am ready to give $3K to get a conditional GC ( if loss of revenue by virtue of loss of AP/EAD applications is a concern to them ).
I know AC21. But one need to find 'same' or 'similar' job and that reduces the search space ( and USCIS can --rew you citing the new job is not similar or same ) . As for AP, you need to wait for the application to turn around and
some travel plans will get derailed.
On the other hand...
'Conditional GC'
Now, some employers won't like what i propose below ( how many employers like the employee getting bargaining power ).
What about a "conditional/restricted" GC to applicants who don't have any other issues other than being stuck in background check. This type of GC should...

Congrats ! Seems ( based on a few posts in forums ) applicants from Bangladesh get faster I-485 processing. Do you guys in general have very unique names ?
How to know which stage of namecheck ?
How to find out if one is in
1. namecheck queue ( got hits, they have to get documents from
elsewhere and so one officer has to look into it - so, it is put
on a stack )
OR
2. Investigation has started into the hits.
I guess they...
When USCIS give out letters ( in response to attorney's query ) they usually state "the processing cannot proceed because of background check is pending" . So far i thought it is only the FBI namecheck. If it is USCIS check do they explicitly state that in the letter ? Or a common letter is...
Did you get it in writing that name check is cleared ?
With the new load of applications ( and fixed USCIS resource ) the mayhem is going to get grand..
They don't count cases stuck in background check ( they don't need to spend the approval part of the process for such cases) , since that is not their problem.
So, i am assuming that a great deal of guys got approved recently. What a processing power. TSC on steroids. Great. I think only the unlucky ones hanging around these message boards.
Why the flood gates opened for I-485 filing
They wasted visa numbers in thousands, because they couldn't approve as many cases to fill the quota of year ( because many testcases got stuck in FBI namecheck backlog ). Now the applicant numbers are increased , so they should see increased number...
Faster green cards derimental to some employers
The moment employee gets GC his/her attitude changes. The one who was obediently serving the employer for ( say 5 years ) without major promotion/salary hike, suddenly starts bargaining. How dare you , Mr. employee ?
