Thanks Pierre. Received the wife's passport last Friday. Everything is done now. We are relieved. It took around 3 weeks to get the passport so it wasnt bad.
I would suggest making a copy of your Naturalization certificate before turning it in for your passport app. They will mail it separately back to you once you get your passport. Some people got the passport first and then the Naturalization Cert. Good luck.
I have to say for me getting my GC and then Citizenship, they only looked at my passport during the GC process. I took the passport with me for the US Citizenship interview and they never asked for it. Just GC and DL as they are not worried about the passport at this point. Same thing happened...
You will receive your letter soon. Our letter was mailed on a Monday, we received it on Thursday saying the oath ceremony was scheduled for the following Tuesday which is today. So fingers crossed for you.
Congratulations Pierre. I am very happy to hear that your ceremony went well. Its indeed a special occasion and my wife's journey ends on Aug 4th. We got the notice yesterday and its set for next Tuesday. A very short turnaround. We have a huge venue where they hold the Oath ceremonies. Mine was...
Passed interview on 7/7 but needed one more document till process was complete. Document sent on 7/7 and received on 7/8. Waiting for the oath letter since then.
I wouldnt re-schedule. Since its for an Oath Ceremony your employer has to give you that time off. Sometimes re-scheduling will delay the process by a month or more. Unless you have a very good reason like a death in the family or travelling out of the country I would advise against it.
Interview went well. She passed everything but the I/O didnt approve pending more documentation on our 2014 tax returns. We hadnt paid it yet and she needs to see proof of it before they can move forward. I guess that needs to go into her file which was several inches thick. I am guessing they...
Thanks Pierre. We are excited about the interview. Congrats to all of you that have passed the interview and went to the Oath Ceremony. Sometimes in Dallas the oath ceremony will be the same day as the interview, it all depends if there is one slated for that day. We will get back to you all...
All the best to you as well Kacy. It will be a lot more relaxed process compared to the interview process. After the passport process you are done with the whole process and its quite the relief.
Congrats Pierre. That was smooth sailing from start to finish. Thank you for letting us know what the questions he asked. This is mighty helpful. Interview for the wife coming up in 27 days and counting.
That is awesome. Its good to see the process working so fast. Almost the end of the line for you Kacy. Two more steps remain before you are a full fledged US Citizen...... :)
Thats what she will be taking as well. I remember taking a lot of documents with me and they never asked for any of it. I guess better be safe than sorry. You had said that you had misplaced the Interview notice. How did that turn out? Did they give you any hassle over it?
Congrats Kacy. I am very glad your interview went without a hitch. When I went through mine in 2009 the I/O only asked me three questions. They must have changed the format.
Also got a letter in the mail for the interview date...... It was smack dab in the middle of our vacation. So had to...
I talked to a colleague of mine and they are also from Dallas and he said that the time between FP and the interview for his wife was almost three months. So Dallas takes a little bit longer than some other parts of the country.
