    Dv-winner Health insurance?

We went with Seven Corners for our temporary insurance, if it helps.

    Dv-winner Health insurance?

We bought the new immigrant health insurance (granted this was back in 2016) without a problem. Being Australian wasn't an issue then, not sure if things had changed. We kept that insurance until my employer's insurance kicked in.

    Green card holder insurance

For our activation trip, I just got travel insurance. I don't know whether that's good or bad, but I figured that I was still an Australian citizen living in Australia so I'd get repatriated back there if something happened in the US.

Yes. Your AFP check should include all names.

If it's printed by the NSW BDM, it's fine. Mine wasn't the original either. It was a copy of the original, printed by the Registry on their secure paper, signed by the Registrar. Many won't have the original issued at birth or they will get a copy printed because the copies show all name...

Majority of us got through without fingerprint checks, myself included. I haven't heard of an Aussie yet who got put on AP for having a Code 33 check with no fingerprints. BUT, if you're interviewing towards the end of the DV year, it's worth covering all bases.

Regarding the police check: you get it through the AFP website current price is $42 you pick code 33 which includes spent and unspent offences no need for fingerprint check so long as the check is done on all known names.

We were high value clients in Australia. We got lucky in that our HSBC guy in NYC who did our banking when we got here was also an Aussie. Definitely helped.

The "been there done that" thread: life in the US after DV

You can open a checking and savings account without issue. The Americans won't care about your credit history for those accounts. A credit card is a different matter. Your Australian credit history means nothing in the US unless you have an American Express or an HSBC account. Those two...

Most state authorities will reprint the high school certificate. I had to get mine done. You'd probably be ok but why risk it when it's easy enough to get a replacement.

    1. Yes, you all have to activate. You don't have to activate at the same time, but the principal must activate first and all must activate by the expiration date the US put in your passport. 2. I would get them renewed. Then, when you get them back, open up the DS260 and change the numbers...

The US wants to know both spent and unspent convictions. Which is why, when you do the AFP clearance, you pick Code 33 during the process to include all offenses, spent or otherwise. That Australia considers the conviction spent, is irrelevant to US immigration. As @SusieQQQ said, the older...

Where are you going to move to?

The price of living in a nanny state. ;) Austin is the most liberal part of Texas. And, from friends who just moved out of there, it's turning into a toilet bowl slowly.

You need to list all names. I've had three name changes and I listed them all on the DS260. I'd re-open the form and list them.

Just as an FYI, my medical process didn't have me do any movements or holding balance. So I'm guessing different panel doctors have different ways of executing the medical.

For some, they will want to move the medical as close to the interview date as possible, as the visa in your passport (once approved) has an expiry date of six months from the date of the medical. That gives them a close to six month window to activate the visa. Since you're already here in...
