I don't think that should have happened. If it were another state's dl then I believe they do, but in my experience they don't take Canadian dl's.

Yup, or both. Don't forget that the TN law prevents people from working for any company not covered by a TN. It allows you to apply for multiple TN's to work for more than one company (or to change to a different company before the previous TN expires).

You can certainly have multiple TN's. I have only had one at a time myself, but I know that others have had more than two. As long as the position fits your qualifications under TN, then no problem.

When I travel home to Toronto I always go to the Buffalo POE. I have never had any trouble there and have had about 6 TNs from there. I have been told not to go to the Niagara Falls POE though. Not sure about Montreal, but Buf. is closer...

I am looking for a phone number for the San Ysidro immigration office near the San Diego/Tijuana area. I have one but it doesn't seem to work. They have certain hours that they process 'special' cases and TN's fall under that, so I wanted information on when the best time to go is. Thanks! :D

TN's can be obtained at any port of entry (including the mexican border). You cannot 'renew' a TN (extensions for existing, non-changing TN's is possible, however). Just make sure you have all of the correct paperwork and requirements.
