On hold due to amended I-140
As per the lawyer, one of my friend\'s case case is not assigned to an officier and is on hold due to the fact that the amended I-140 was applied. Case details are:
PD - May 96
I-485 RD - 7/99
I-485 ND - 8/99
I-485 RFE #1 - 12/00
I-485 case on hold from 12/00...
A friend of mine wants to travel to India. Her 485 is applied at the VSC.
She initially came to US on H-4, & later on converted to H-1. She didn\'t get an H-1 stamp on her passport after the H-1 was approved.
Before she filed for I-485, she traveled to India & re-entered using the H-4...
I kept thinking we were this close to our GC & kept waiting ... but still nothing.
We want to travel to India in December. Our AP expired in Aug of this year. Can I go to the Local INS office to get it renewed? How long do you think this process might take?

Me too! Our RD is in July 99, & ND in Aug. 99.
Tired of getting the same answer from IIO. I am happy for those people who got approval, however, I feel it is unfair, since there are a lot of people whose dates are earlier, & are still waiting.

Nope. We had our finger printing done in June 00.
Nothing yet! And our lawyer got the message from INS as "Not in the final area... should be soon..." And we have started seeing approvals for Sep. 99.
Our RD was July, & ND Aug 5th 99.
