    DV2007 and CP in Ukraine

Got the letter last week with 20xx priority number for EU. As my wife and I just filed employment based I-485s (enough hassles to deal with CIS), we thing to choose the CP, and go back to Ukraine for the interview. Correct me if I'm wrong, my wife will interview together with me in Ukraine...

    hardship waiver timelines

To give a point of reference for some of you with similar cases, here are the timeline for mine and my wife's hardship cases (for both: USIA finding, U.S. Citizen child): 1. Case filed with DOS & TSC: 05/03/2005 DOS recommendation: 11/03/2005 TSC approval...

    Advice needed for Hardship Waiver

It took 8 months for me, and 9 months for my wife to get hardship waivers. I think the timeline depends on the case itself, on the case officer assigned to the case, and on how fast the sponsor views are received. From my experiences, you can't compare cases at all. We had the same cases with...

    J-1 waiver exceptional hardship!!!!!!

My experience was with US Child waiver, but in general, the same ideas apply. You have to cover the subject from various angles - the more details, the better. This should include hardships with both scenarios, with your spouse following you to your contry, and then both of you getting...

    I-612 timeline at Texas USCIS

Anybody with recent experience in approving hardship I-612 at TSC? It has been month and half since the favorable recommendation, and still no response from the agency. Any feedback is appreciated.

    Sponsor Views Insanity

After not getting a response from the USIA (from what I know, my sponsor's program has been cancelled a few years back) during three and half months, the status of "Sponsor Views (Unacceptable)" has been added to my file. Then, two weeks later, a new request has been initiated, but this one...

    appointment scheduling in Canada Consulate

phone service vs. web site scheduling Is there a difference in regards what's available out there? I'm wonder how they sometime get into negative numbers. I'm still waiting for papers to come in here to Canada (could be another month), but I would hate to wait weeks, after I get everything...

    DOS decision -> H1B & USCIS waiver

So, I did my homework reading all of your postings that it is OK to apply for H1B/I-485 with only having a DOS decision on hands, and somehow CIS miraclously approves both petitions at the same time. However, from what I can find, there is no legal base behind this advice. The bottom line...

    appointment scheduling in Canada Consulate

Can one schedule more than one appointment at the time? Or, do you have to cancel one in order to schedule another one.

    details on online waiver status

DOS has to get views from all angles to decide on the case, regardless of funding circumstances. Even if your sponsor objects, the DOS could issue a favorable recommendation due to other angles having more weight. From what you mentioned above, you should be in the good shape.

    details on online waiver status

I think this first goes to the Sponsor identified on your IAP-66, and if one no longer exist (happens often when programs cancelled, or a department reorganized), then the request goes to the school/organization where the exchange took place. If the first above happens, then you loose lots of...

    Recapture H-1B time in Canada

Could somebody please clarify this for me. I was previously issued 6 years of H-1B (three + three-year extension). I was advised to leave the country to work in Canada to save up the last 90 days of my H-1B. Now, as I'm ready to enter U.S. again, does my employer need to file the 90-day H-1B...

    Lawyer??

depends on a case There are many things to consider her. In my case (USIA sponsor, hardship waiver, no obvious argument), hiring a laywer really paid off. Looking back now, I might have had only about 10-15% shot at getting the same result without a laywer. There are many details here, and...

My daughter will be one year old before my wife's HRR expires

Agree with the previous post. The hardship waiver is a better fit here, though in some cases it make sense to try the "no objection" waiver first. As for the "sponsor views", it took four months to get them back in my case, and then another month for the decision to come out. I guess you'll...

In fact, the decision gets updated to "Favorable Recommendation". Has waited for these two sweet words to appear for almost seven months.

    details on online waiver status

Can somebody share exactly what should the online status show after the "sponsor views" item has been received and the waiver decision is made by DoS? Is it something like "212(e) Finding Letter" sent? And then, in a week or so the DoS decision should switch from Pending to whatever? Does...

    Pending J-1 Waiver, "Sponsor Views"

Greta, Sorry to hear about your case decision. One thing I would advise against is to separate with your family while fullfilling the waiver, if that's a case. I got separated from my family only for four months now while awaiting the hardship waiver outcome in Canada, and it feels like a...
