Hi All,
I had my citizenship interview at the Raleigh-Durham office on 11/16/11 and passed all the tests, however the officer said he couldn't approve my application at the time since it hasn't been 5 years since I received my GC (today 12/5/11 marks my 5 year anniversary).
After my...
citi is wrong, you can apply after 3 years minus 90 days from the date you received ur conditional GC, thats assuming you are still married to you USC spouse.
I just came back from PR a week ago. It's just like flying to any other state, you only need your DL. I'm a GC holder and no one asked to see my passport or GC (I didn't take neither with me to begin with). Now whether PR was worth the trip or not, thats a whole different matter.
I think it depends on the state that you live in. Some states require you to wait at least a month after a divorce is final before you can remarry again.
i agree, if he's in it for a green card, he would be eager to marry asap. I would take my time and enjoy a long engagment. maybe try to visit india and his family in the meantime, and see how things go.
i read the article and it seems that if she didnt access that classified information, they would've never found out that the marriage was a sham. So i really dont understand the praise for USCIS, if they did their job properly, she shouldnt have had her citizenship int he first place.
wow, the fees are ridculous..they've more than doubled.
The average cost for a typical application now is $355(I-130) + $1010(I-485) + $340(EAD) + $305 (AP) = between $1365 and $2010
no need to do that
yes, using AR-11
I personally dont think it would be a problem applyin for a citizenship after 3 years if she's ok with it. I donnow if they would require her to go to the interview with u, but if she's fine with it, then its not a big deal.
On the other hand, u can...
I think that giving citizenship automatically to children of Illegal Immigrants, the minute they're born, is ridiculous...it doesnt make any sence and its causin all that debate bout separating families...
by the way, if you have a valid I-20, it means ur still in-status as F-1, she simply wont be able to leave the country and come back without renewing her F-1 visa.
and yes you can marry a USC and apply for a GC. I was on F-1 myself before becomming a LPR.
congratulation man..i'm happy for you..
you received an approval notice for ur I-130 too??? the status of mine is still unchanged since they received it, even though i have the physical card for 3 months now..
