extension denial hello ~ can i ask when you got a denial, you need to leave usa right away or you can leave within 30 days ? thanks !

Can someone tell me if this is true : if the visa extension got denied, you will have 30 days to leave USA ? Or the date you rcv the denial letter you'll need to leave right away like w/i 24 hours? I was here for 5 months last time, I left for 2 weeks and came back but was only given 1-month...
