I don't want to sound pessimistic, but this is a major problem that did defang my I-485 several years ago. Not only was it transferred from TSC to ADO for a local-office interview, but nothing happened and my case lay in limbo. Nobody wanted to deal with it and several InfoPass visits finally...
H1-B Laid Off - Options
I am sorry to hear that and can only commiserate. The options are as follows:
If you opt for a H1-->F1 transfer, it is not the same as H1-->H1 transfer, because yours involves a change to the "category."
There is no grace period because you are pregnant.
Try to...
No
If USCIS finds out that you have left before the petition is adjudicated, it will deny your case. This has happened to my friend, who got stranded in India as he went ahead thinking he can get the approval mailed to him.
1. You risk denial. Grounds for denial will be "abandonment."
2...
Unfortunately, Shoplifting is a CIMT
Talk to a lawyer. Unfortunately, Shoplifting is a CIMT (Crime Involving Moral Turpitude). Even if there is no jail-time served, a mere indictment for this offense can and will have immigration consequences. What you should be very careful is that you can't...
USCIS will reject all petitions
It means that folks belonging to the visa-cap countries will NOT be able to file for their I-485 and if they do, those petitions will be summarily rejected. Similarly, for those who have already filed their I-485, no approvals will happen until the current FY...
Address Change is doable, but NOT preferrable.
eb2kid:
What your attorney told you is NOT entirely out of substance. He has played it very conservatively. You don't need to get stuck with a single address. However, you must understand that changing addresses carries a moderate amount of risk...

Congratulations, veteran. You really don't need a passport stamping because these days your card comes within 4 days of approval. Enjoy your triumph as your journey took too long to finish. After all the old adage goes, "finis coronat opus," ("the end crowns the work").
I applaud your...
You will have to file and get only ONE Schengen Visa.
You will have to file it in the French Consulate (and NOT Italian Consulate).
You will have to have confirmed tickets to show that you will leave France on a specific date and likewise you must have confirmed tickets to show the departure...

Applicants for green cards get a second chance in court
Attorney Robert L. Reeves and Katherine L. Curtis, Oct 25, 2006
The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (“USCIS”) recently...
You need to get directly online with somebody at TSC with whom you must get clarified as to whether you were approved or not and if so what happened to the mail. That's how I was able to find out that my GC plastic was making rounds (I was told 2 unsuccessful attempts and the 3rd one is on its...
My I-181 approval had this verbiage.
My I-181 approval (Green-Card) had this message:
Application Type: I181, CREATION OF RECORD OF LAWFUL PERMANENT RESIDENCE
Current Status:
On November 8, 2005, the document we made based on the approval or registration of this case was mailed...
It is valid until approval of your petition (but read caveat)
Your medicals are valid until the date of approval of your case. This is made possible by the annual memoranda issued by USCIS since 2004. They say that the medicals are valid until the date of approval of your case and this policy...
I know of a few cases wherein the widowed spouse wanted to continue with the petition in order to get the Green-Card. A Federal Circuit Court of Appeals' decision opens more vistas in order to achieve that.

Start by calling 1-800 and by adopting a convoluted trick that PrinceOfJungle had elucidated (please check in this forum or may be others can help you on this one) to reach somebody at TSC.
Contact your Congress-Person / Senator and apply the pressure.

I will exhort you to call / contact TSC through any available means so that somebody gets to cast an eye over your application. You don't want to endure further wait times arising out of possible retrogression which is well on the anvil.

Sequence is as follows:
"Approved and notice mailed."
"Card Ordered and mailed."
It is entirely possible, as it happened in my wife's case, that she received her card first. Her approval notice came in mail 2 days after that.
