The letter you have received is yellow-letter. This is for the interview.
Your online status has nothing to do with the yellow-letter.
If it gives you peace of mind, go ahead. But, whether you send it with application or not, make sure you have them for the interview. More than the return, you need the IRS transcripts. So file and get them in mail from IRS.

Unfortunately, a few weeks ago, another guy got a certified mail from USCIS and it was a denial because of physical/continuous presence. Not sure what it could be, in light of these anecdotal evidences....
What is a "canceled check" anyway? Can anybody explain? So the court orders "each month Dad pays $1000 to Child". Now, Dad is expected to mail-in the checks for $1000 each month. Now, what does the "canceled check" mean? Pardon my ignorance.
