It depends on many factors, and I would need a bit more information before attempting any sort of answer. I would advise you to check out the government's site on the various types of visa. That site can be found here...
If the paperwork does not ask for it, I would not include it. Sometimes including extra documents can be just as detrimental to your efforts as not including enough. Good luck with the rest of the process!
I'm going to have to agree with Concerned4Us on this one. Lying on resumes does happen, but it is the very rare case and not the norm. Also, as mentioned, if you are caught lying on your resume there will be severe repercussions. I can only imagine how those repercussions would impact a foreign...
I would actually advise that you DO bring your kids to this meeting. Bringing your kids tends to make the interviewer a bit more laid back, and it helps show that you are just a human being who needs help like all the rest of us. Just make sure you express to your kids how important it is for...
Unless there is just no way you can be together for another day, I would have to strongly advise you to wait out the next two months. Once you achieve citizenship, nothing else will matter, and your days of worrying about green cards will be over. Regardless of what you decide, please keep us...
While I cannot say how many pictures you will need, in my experience I have not seen any issues with bringing children into the interviews. I have even seen cases where multiple children were allowed in. I would not worry about being separated because of your children. Good luck, and please let...
The only straightforward way to deal with issue is to face it head on. The first thing you need to do is contact your old employers - ALL of them - and gather all the records you can. Tax records from the country you were in, pay stubs/checks and all other relevant records. Gather them all up...
Congratulations to all the Diversity Lottery winners from Ghana! I hope you enjoy your years in the United States. This country was built by immigrants and depends on them to keep it thriving. I wish you the best of luck in the future!
Is it not an option to find work with another employer? Also, enrolling in school is definitely a legitimate option for you. It depends on whether you can find work or have the means to enroll in school. I would think enrolling in school would be the easier choice, but it depends on your...
Tony, I am assuming that you have since settled this issue. What decision did you make, and how did it go? It is always useful to add these kinds of stories to the community, so we can better give advice to the next person in need. I look forward to your reply, and hope all is well with you.
Check out the government's page on business and employment based Visas here: USCIS. That should give you a very good start at becoming familiar with them all. Some of them are very specific and only apply to certain countries, while others are open to the vast majority of countries - depending...
Don't be sorry! I only want what is best for you. I had thought the EB6 was closer to reality, but it does seem to have fallen off the radar, and I did not know about that additional cash! Regardless, I'm sorry I wasn't able to give you a better answer!
I found this article for you, and I think it can be helpful. - http://www.immihelp.com/visas/extend.html It does mention that it is best to go for the extension when there are at least 45 days remaining on the visitor visa. I don't know your time-frame, but either way, you should get this...
There is a new visa program that I believe will begin shortly, known as the Startup or EB6 (the 6th preference employment based visa). I think this visa will offer you the flexibility and lower cash investment you are looking for. Check it out and let us know if that is more in line with your needs.
There is another visa that will soon be available called the Startup Visa, or, Eb6 Visa. I believe this will be more suited for your needs because it requires less money, and allows you to be their 'Angel Investor.' I believe this will help you to avoid the gift tax. So look into the Startup...
I would start by checking the government's page on the E3 visa. I have gone ahead and shortened that very long url for you, and that info can be found at this link - http://tinyurl.com/yjhv9w8. Give that page a look, and if you have any more specific questions, please ask them here.
An in-depth description of the Startup Visa can be found here - http://techcrunch.com/2010/02/24/startup-visa-jobs-green-card/. You can contrast that information with this description of the EB5 visa - http://www.cmbeb5visa.com/EB5_InDepth.aspx
This is a very important distinction. The million dollar investment figure that is required to take part in the Eb5 Visa Program can be lowered to $500,000 if the investment is made in a targeted employment area (an area where the unemployment rate is at least 150% that of the national average)...
