I also wanted to know if it is allowed for me to leave the US for an extended period such as a year after filing I-130? If I-130 is approved, is it possible to complete further process while remaining outside of the US?

Hi LucyMO. Thanks for clearing up my confusion. So, any ideas as to how long it would take if my parents become US citizens and then sponsor their son (my brother). I heard that parents filing for their sons is faster than a sister filing for brother.
