In my estimation you won't get a chance, your number won't become current. There were too many selectees in DV2023, and the government increased OC selectees by 77%. That's nuts. In January we will see the CEAC data for DV2024. At that time you will be able to see the full range of case...

Well 2024OC20XX might be in with a chance, but yes re-enter DV2025. The chance of selection in OC region is very high compared to other regions, so third time would not be a total shock.

I was hoping there would be more holes,but the selectee numbers show that the holes rate is probably similar to dv2023. The increase in selectee numbers (77%) means high case numbers won't get a chance.

Last year was unusually high at about 1440 because (probably) people were scared about consular processing delays. They issued more than 56K DV2023 between CP and AOS, so it had to stop somewhere.

Gov has confirmed there were 917 AOS visas granted in DV2023.

Government just confirmed they have issued just over 56,000 visas for DV2023. Yes 56 is more than 55.

Using a max case number of 4900 as an assumed highest case number selected, the case density for OC is a little higher than in DV2023. So - your hope would be for less people to respond, less get approved and so on.

I'd like to see an update on this. $5 says the IO didn't try to draw the visa from IVAMS

Mine was batched like that. Current in June and ended up with Sept 2 interview. They shouldn't do that, but hopefully this year will teach them.

I think we will have similar issues in September 2024 - the only difference being that people will be more believing of the warnings given.
