COs are never inexperienced. Also US Embassy can either put you on AP, accept or reject, not give you options. A lot of people marry after being selected. The OP should have just said sorry my marriage is worth more to me than a US Green Card. Although I highly doubt this ever happened.
No write Muxidin. The biometric page on the passport will be used. It will save you a lot of hassle. While you can easily prove both names belong to your father, visa will be printed using the name on the first page anyway so why take a risk.
