My wife has her Immigrant Visa Interview (IR1 Spouse of US Citizen) scheduled in Mumbai, India on 22 May,2025. She is currently pregnant with our first child.

Have 2 questions:
1. Usually how much time does it take to get the Green Card after the Immigrant Visa Interview (IR1) ?
2. Can a CBP officer deny her entry on a Green Card to the USA for any reason (7 months pregnant) ?

1. She does not get a green card outside the US. She gets an immigrant visa. She becomes a US permanent resident (i.e. green card holder) immediately upon being admitted to the US on her immigrant visa.
2. Only if she has a ban or other ground of inadmissibility, which is highly unlikely because she wouldn't have gotten the visa if she was inadmissible.

There is no problem with an immigrant coming to the US to give birth. However, airlines might not fly someone who is late in their pregnancy.

if you are worried about CBP denying because of the current administration- as you are a US citizen, assuming you meet the requirements for passing on citizenship your child will be a citizen regardless where it is born so that would not be a reason to deny entry. In any case an immigrant visa is not “birth tourism”.
