Thanks for your response. Are there any advatages of having the approved EAD versus just H1-B status? and are there any disadvantages?

My current status is H-1B and my employer is about to file AOS for me. My employer has told me that I can apply for EAD if I want, or stay with my H-1B status (which will expire in December). I'd like to know the pros and cons of having an EAD approved, as opposed to just staying with H-1B...
