I am currently in the US, on a valid F1 visa which expires in July 2009.However,I'll be completing my B.S(undergraduate) by the end of Aug 09.I am eligible for OPT after this and I wish to visit India once in a while to c my family.
So if I get a job(on OPT) after Aug 09,and then I decide to go to India,so would applying for an extension/renewal on F1 be a problem?I will be goin to India in Dec 08.Can I extend/renew my visa then?.
I asked the International Students office here n they said that its really difficult to get an extension on a valid F-1 visa and that an extension on OPT is not given.This means that I will have to stay here till my OPT terminates,which is really a long time,and work on an expired F1.
Kindly suggest if I can somehow renew/extend my Visa before it expires,so that I have the flexiblility of goin to India whenever feasible.I will be here till the end of August 09 after comin back from India in Jan 09.Pls help.
