I am living in US since 2005 and facing physical , verbal abuse and harassment by my husband. However never reported to the police, my mistake. Always thought things will get better but even now after having baby last month he keeps on abusing/torturing me and giving me stress everyday on one or the other self created issues/ excuses. In the meantime I want to find from your knowledge what rights do I have.
Husband on H1-B valid till 2014 Has got approved I-140 i am on h4 visa till 2014 .
I have questions regarding the following
1. what are my immigration rights. can i start living seperately and will i be paid any child and myself support as i can not work on H4 and whom to contact immeditely
2. Is there anyway my greencard be effected if i start to live seperately
3.can my husband file divorce in USA even thou we our married in india.
I will apopreciate a detailed reply.
