    Can I apply for EAD as my removal proceeding case for Asylum (I-589) is denied by IJ ?

    I was out of status for 7 months in 2006. USCIS detained me for a day then they accepted my bail and set the dates for court hearing. I applied for Asylum I-589, but IJ denied my case. Now I applied an appeal to BIA and it is still pending. Please advise if I can apply for EAD.
