Has anyone here done OCI processing for a US Citizen child born & currently living in India (i.e., parents of child are USC and child got USC on birth in India)? If yes, did you first need to get a Indian visa for the child (even though child is already in India) before applying for OCI?

Citi_seeker - you need to go to the consulate at 2:00pm - no need to submit anything in the morning. You submit your passports at 2:00 and its done by 2:15..very cool!

Thanks Citi_slicker. Actually their embassy states that you can pick up the OCI from the embassy in person on "any working day between 2:00pm and 4:00pm". I was just wondering whether anyone has actually done this or not. I called the embassy but no one picks up - it just goes to voice mail.

I got my oath letter about 1 week after the interview. Did not see where it was mailed from.

No Worries Mate If I were you I would not worry - check cashing may take a couple of weeks..its not a big deal
