I dont think I applied for COS. I came here on L1 while my H1(extension) was still in process. Does the H1 status get invalid if I am on L1. Can I switch to H1 if the H1 petition is in the approved state.

When I look at my H1 petition number on USCIS website it shows that it has been approved last april. However I had been on L1 since then with the same company. The HR guys say to ignore that petition. However I would like to know if I still have a approved H1 petition and till what time it is...
