    DV Lottery 2017 - Questions

How would anybody torment themselves to live in such harsh conditions, is beyond my understanding. There's a joke that I know that says something like this: " Summer in Canada begins on the 21st of July. It ends on the 22nd of July." Lots of areas in the US have equally harsh winters (Midwest...

    DV Lottery 2017 - Questions

Ideally you would not want to put all your life savings at stake, when immigrating, just saying. Especially if those get you covered for the first 3 months only.

What happens after winning the DV lottery?

Basically, being selected in the Diversity Visa is simply being offered a chance to apply for an Immigrant Visa. That's it! GC holder DV 2015 Can't live in US for a long time reentry or returning

So, arriving to the US on a one-way ticket, which the CBP officer can see on the computer, is preferred, cause it's more likely to make the officer believe that you plan on settling for good, and not just coming for a short visit? Also, isn't like a warning that you're given, at CBP admission...

    DV Lottery 2017 - Questions

Tracking GC delivery via USCIS ELIS

It's not mandatory that you pay it before entering the US, but it is recommended to do so, if you wanna leave in two months with the GC in your hand. You should have enough time (2 months), but it's not a certainty that the card will arrive until November.

First Name/Middle Name on US documents

Right. Sorry, I expressed myself wrong. What I'm trying to say: if I'm to get a replacement card, is it so my name on it fully matches the name on SSn?

First Name/Middle Name on US documents

To what purpose? Cause I prefer it without the hyphen. Actually the only issue is the fact that my GC has a middle name (initial), whilist my SSN has my middle name alongside first name (as a compound first name, no hyphen).
