My GC is filed in EB3 and have an approved I-140. My soon to be ex-spouse had a brain hemorrhage and that rendered him totally disabled and we sent him to India as we couldn't take care of him here. I am a single mother supporting myself, and my 15 year old son. Recently, I received a court summons regarding my soon to be ex's( we were seperated then and divorce petition is filed in India) hopspital bills amounting to more than 300K which I cannot pay in my capacity. My question is - can bankruptcy filing affect my immigration/ GC proceedings? Is bankruptcy filing a time taking procedure? I am in a very difficult situation. Please advise...Thanks..RM
